CIRCULAR
With the advent of development and progress in the country, more and more houses in the rural areas are being constructed with use of modern materials such as cement and steel. However, due to lack of proper design and the required skill of workers, the buildings are constructed without conforming to our traditional architecture, safety consideration and building codes. This issue was raised during the recent Annual Conference of the Chairpersons of DYT and GYT during which it was agreed that the building heights in the rural areas should not be allowed beyond three floors. Therefore, the Dzongkhags and Gewog authorities in approving house constructions in the rural areas should strictly adhere to the above decision and the rule enforced without fail.
