Department of Urban Development & Engineering Services(DUDES) is the leading agency involved in Urban Planning and Development in Bhutan. It has huge information on urban development plans, urban facilities and utilities information and traditional building architecture. All these information have to be shared with the general public.

With the advent of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Bhutan, particularly the Internet Technology has made sharing of information with general public possible which otherwise was difficult in the past. The ICT revolution is changing the way government is functioning both at local and national level. Governance through use of ICT is known as Electronic Governance, popularly called E-Governance. It is now the buzz word throughout the world. It initiates good governance by introducing transparency in the government functioning, allowing citizen to participate in governance.

To this end, DUDES has hosted this website or web portal aiming to establish the process of E-Governance wherein the citizens of Kingdom of Bhutan would participate electronically for the governance of their towns and cities. This Website or Web Portal is by no means complete. In fact, it is living portal where information posted will be regularly updated and new features will be added as and when it is necessary.
