Public Notification


The Samtse Municipal Corporation (SMC) in consultation with the Department of Urban Development and Engineering Services, MoWHS and the plot owners and the agencies concerned has prepared a Structure Plan for Samtse Municipality. Further, to facilitate the realization of the provisions of the Structure Plan, the SMC has initiated the finalization of the detailed Local Area Plans (LAP) for the Core Area and the Gurung Basti area. However, a number of transactions have taken place since the land ownership records were last obtained and the plans prepared could not be implemented. Therefore, the land records and data have to be updated to revise and finalize the plan.

Due to the expanse of the LAP area and the number of plot owners, the data update and plan revisions have been phased. Phase 1 will begin with the Core Area which has been further subdivided into smaller blocks and each block assigned a date for documents and ground verification. Maps and Information on the extent of the Local Area boundary, individual land parcels within block subdivisions and the corresponding dates for data verification are available at the Samtse Municipal Corporation Office, Engineering Cell of Dzongkhag Administration, Samste and Office of Urban Planning and Development Division, DUDES, Thimphu. The maps will be on display till April 24, 2007.

Each individual record will be verified against the registration maintained by the Survey of Bhutan or the SMC. Plot owners who have obtained lagthram / land ownership certificate as of December 31, 2006 are requested to report along with all relevant documents pertaining to their plot(s) at 9:00am in their respective blocks as per the dates scheduled. If any plot owner has plot/s in other blocks as well, he/she should bring along the documents for that plot/s while reporting for the block scheduled earliest and apprise the Planning Team of the same. Please be informed that this is the final verification call and the Municipality will not be responsible if any land owner/s fails to report.
